Your free trial

How long your trial runs and whether a card is needed can differ by how you joined, and here is what's true either way, including what happens if you never add a card.

Whether your trial asks for a card up front, and exactly how long it runs, depends on how you joined — your invite email or your signup flow states both plainly, and your Billing page always shows the exact date. What's true no matter how you got here: Cara answers your real calls for the whole trial, and nothing stops while it runs.

If your trial has no card on file, the section below on what happens when it ends is the one to read. Nothing is ever charged to a card you didn't add.

How it works

  • Your trial clock starts the moment you first sign in, not when your account was created.
  • A trial runs on Pro-level features regardless of which plan you'll actually pay for — you see the full product, then settle onto your chosen plan the moment the trial ends.
  • Some trials — the kind that start with a card on file — also carry a hard cap on included minutes. Your Billing page and usage meter show it plainly when it applies. Other trials aren't capped this way.

What converts, and when

  • If your trial has no minutes cap, it converts to the plan you chose when its term ends. You'll get advance notice by email before the first charge, naming the exact amount, the exact date, and the card it will hit.
  • If your trial does carry a minutes cap and you reach it, the trial ends right then instead of running to its original date: billing starts immediately on the plan you chose, and Cara keeps answering without any interruption. You're never left unanswered because a cap was reached, and extra minutes are never billed as overage during the trial itself, capped or not.
  • Before a capped trial converts, you get a one-time heads-up by email and push once you've used most of the cap — so the conversion is never a surprise.
  • If your trial has no card on file and the date passes with none added, it doesn't convert. No card when your free days end? Cara keeps answering and taking messages for 14 more days, but stops booking. Add a card any time to switch booking back on. In those 14 days she answers under your business name, the other AI extras are off, and you'll see a nudge on every lead she sends you. After them she tells callers she can't take a message right now, and your Billing page shows the paused state. If you're done, turn forwarding off — see Turn off forwarding. We never release your ClearLine365 number while it's still getting calls.

Change your mind

You can switch the plan you're locked in for any time from Billing — see Change your plan mid-cycle. To cancel before you're ever charged, email support@clearline365.com; nothing is charged in the meantime.

Limits

  • The exact length of your trial and whether it needs a card are set by how you signed up, not by anything you control from inside the app — check your invite email or your Billing page for your own case.
  • A trial minutes cap, where one applies, converts the trial early even if the calendar trial period hasn't ended yet.

Common questions

Will I be charged without warning?

No. Whether your trial converts on its end date or early at a minutes cap, you get an email stating the exact amount and date before any charge lands.

What happens to my calls if my trial's minutes cap is reached?

Nothing changes for callers. Your plan activates automatically and Cara keeps answering — the cap converts your trial to a paying plan instead of stopping anything.

My trial ended and I never added a card. Is Cara still answering?

Yes, for 14 days. She answers under your business name and captures every lead in that window; what she stops doing is booking appointments. After the 14 days she tells callers the line isn't active right now. Adding a card at any point puts everything back.
